Melvin Carrier, age 85, a native Opelousas, La. and a resident of Dequincy, La., died Sunday, December 25, 2011, at Cornerstone Hospital in ,Sulphur, La. He was a member of Morningstar Baptist Church and worked as a forklift operator. He was the son of Joseph Carrier and Mary (Anderson) Carrier. He is survived by his wife Mary Carrier; Two Daughters, Daughter-Helen R Mitchell of Grambling, La. Daughter-Carla Drake and husband Robert of Topeka, Kan. Three Sons, Son-Melvin Carrier and wife Elizabeth of DeQuincy, La. Son-Charles Carrier and wife Dianne of DeQuincy, La. Son-Michael Carrier of Jasper, Texas Arrangements are being handled by Christensen Funeral Home, Inc., 1810 West 4th Street, Dequincy, La.. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM on Wednesday December 28, 2011, at Christensen Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, at Christensen Funeral Home. December 28, 2011. Rev. Jack London will be officiating. Interment will be at Community Cemetery in Dequincy, La.
