Myrtle "Sister" Miller, age 93, native of Hornbeck, Louisiana, resident of DeQuincy, La., died Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Care Center Of Dequincy in DeQuincy, La. She was a member of First Baptist Church of DeQuincy, La for sixty-four years. She had been a nurse since 1940 and loved helping others. She helped deliver many babies during her nursing career. She loved reading, gardening and working on her patio with her pot plants.

She was the daughter of the late Harry Williams and the late Grace (Hays) Williams.

She is survived by her

One Son, Larry Miller and wife, Carla of Longview, Texas

One Sister, Ann Cooper of Dequincy, La.

One Brother, Guy Williams and Carolyn of Lake Charles, La.

Two grandchildren, Laura Trammell and husband Mitchell Trammell and Laurence Miller Two great-grandchildren, Connor and Carter Trammell She is preceded in death by her mother and father, husband of 33 years, Welch Miller, by four brothers. Harry Williams, Jr., Royce Williams, Dale Williams and Lynn Williams. Arrangements are being handled by Christensen Funeral Home, Inc., DeQuincy, La., The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2012 at First Baptist Church of DeQuincy. Funeral service will be at First Baptist Church at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 5, 2012 , Pastor Rob Walls officiating. Interment will be at DeQuincy Memorial Park in DeQuincy, La.
