Jimmy Garber, age 64, native of Abbeville and a resident of DeQuincy, La., died Friday, March 9, 2012, at M D Anderson in Houston, Texas. He loved to cook dirty rice, fried turkey, crawfish etouffee and deviled eggs. He loved his family, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, fishing, crabbing, cajun music and his two dogs, Buddy and K.C.. He was a fan of LSU and the Saints. He will be remembered as a patient, gentle, content, accepting and kind hearted man.
He was the son of the late Henry Garber and the late Beulah (Trahan) Garber.
He is survived by his wife Shera Garber;

He was preceded in death by his mother and father.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Christensen Funeral Home and from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday, March 12, 2012 at New Hope Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at New Hope Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Monday, March 12, 2012 . Bro. Roland Hebert will be officiating. Interment will be at DeQuincy Memorial Park in DeQuincy, La.
